Display measurements

Different display technologies such as LCD and LED panel displays may encounter variation in for example colour, luminance and flicker levels during the production process. To ensure high quality products it is important to keep track of and correct eventual changes between and variations in displays. Typically, displays are measured following one of two measurement principles:

  • Spot measurements: Measuring a spot [for example 10mm] in the middle or at several points of the display. This is¬†typically done with one or more light meters, colorimeters or spectrometers.
  • 2D / imaging measurements: Analysing the whole display and its uniformity based on a 2D camera image.

For more information about both measurement principles, please take a look at our display spot measurement and display 2D imaging pages respectively.
